Ballet expert, Deanna McBreaty, demonstrates and explains the proper technique for pique dégagé at the barre.
The barre combination is two piques, followed by three dégagé. You will do this all on angles (front, side, backside) and then repeat on the other side.
Some things to think about is to have strength in your toes as you pique. You also want to keep your rotation and remain tal on your standing legs. Use the inner thighs to pull your legs together.
