Tap expert, Kaleena Miller, will demonstrate how to properly perform a paradiddle or a paddle and roll.

To perform a proper paradiddle, you begin with a dig on your heel, brush up on to your toe, step on to the ball of your foot and then drop your weight into your heel. There should be four basic, distinct sounds for a paradiddle. You want to make sure you’re keeping everything in front of you, rather than behind you. If you are looking to add more difficulty, you can push our rather than dig on your heel for the first move of the paradiddle.
