This intermediate battement combination is great for an across the floor exercise. You will start by stepping with your left leg, battement your right leg, step on your right leg and battement your left leg. The goal with these two battements is to aim towards your nose rather than your shoulders. After the two battements, you will step onto your left foot, open up to the side as your right leg comes all the way up to the side of your head. As your leg is coming down, you will step on your right leg as it turns to the side to switch into a left arabesque. You want to make sure you are keeping straight legs throughout this entire exercise, but especially during the arabesque as well. The intermediate battement combo is great for strengthening your kicks and getting more power behind your movement as your dancing.
